Release Notes: The current NetDirector RHN plugin only works with RHN version 3 and 4. With RHEL 5, Red Hat dropped the up2date agent in favor of Yum, and we have not yet reworked the plugin to work with 5.
In addition to making the NetDirector RHN plugin compatible with RHEL 5, we also plan to build similar plugins to Yum, Portage, Apt and other update tools such as Landscape. No date is set for this - it's dependent on resources.

How Does it Work?
The module works by sending AJAX calls
to the NetDirector server manager which in turn sends a set of
instructions to either the RHN server or to the remote server. This
approach allows the NetDirector Server Manager to either tell the RHN server to
do something or to retrieve information about its current environment
of the selected servers in the server tree. Also by being able to
send instructions to the up2date agent directly, this module can run
the up2date command and give it instructions like, for example,
switch from hosted to an RHN satellite server.
